“It’s about creating truly meaningful art that you can feel as much as you can see.”

I’ve always been astonished by how emotionally impactful films can be. Since being swept away by “movie magic” as a kid, I’ve been focused on the Hollywood secrets and techniques that make that possible. And it turns out, there’s a lot that goes into true cinematic design.

After growing up in River Falls, WI, I studied Film at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (Peck School of the Arts), have taken online courses through Cinema Mastery and The Color Grading Academy, and routinely attend the Wedding Business Academy. I think it’s incredibly important to keep up with modern techniques, but also to never lose sight of what’s truly important.

I think wedding video should be about more than documenting your day. It should be about the deeper connection you and your partner share. This is why I focus on the story. Focusing on the story (in addition to cinematography) makes the energy and emotion that much more powerful. And most importantly, it gives the film more meaning and a timeless quality.

“Wedding video should be about more than documenting your day. It should be about your deeper connection”

I focus 100% on video, and I only film wedding videos and love stories. This is because wedding videos and love stories are totally organic and authentic. They are cinema in its purest form. There are no corporate slogans or sales to push. Nothing comes in between you, the story, the art, and the emotion. Nothing gets in the way of that.

At the end of the day, this isn’t work for me. I love filming weddings, but more than that, I love capturing the indescribable energy and emotion of your connection to each other. I love creating truly meaningful art that you can feel as much as you can see.
